Why Do New Skates Cause Discomfort?

Higher-end hockey skates feature:

  • reinforced boot construction
  • anatomical support zones
  • gel padding in the ankle area

These materials are designed for maximum performance, but without proper molding they may initially cause discomfort.

Heat molding allows the boot structure to adapt precisely to your foot shape.

How Does Heat Molding Work?

We heat skates in a specialized Skate Oven, which:

  • distributes heat evenly
  • operates at manufacturer-recommended safe temperatures
  • minimizes the risk of material damage

After heating, the skates are properly laced and shaped directly on the player’s foot to ensure optimal ankle and heel fit.

The entire process takes approximately 20 minutes.
